I was curious about how people make cast bullets and well, after quite a bit of smelting, I decided to try a couple so I set up a RCBS Pot over a camp stove and used some RCBS bullet lube to flux. Molten lead now clean, I gave my 2 cavity mold a try and scooped an RCBS ladel full of lead and poured it into the sprue plate cavity till full. waited a bit for the lead to harden and hit the sprue plate with a new unused hammer handle to open. I then tapped the bolt on the handles with the beater stick and 2 bullets dropped into a 5 gallon bucket of water.
I ended up doing more than a couple and besides the 12 or 14 that came out "iffy" and I will throw back into the pot at a later day, here they are.
The picture qaulity sucks but they are perfect, flat tips, nice cut grooves, smooth all around.

I was intimadated to start but it is way too easy.
I will be doing alot more on saturday after I get back from a scout out. ...
