BBQ-gun holster. First decorated holster I've ever made, first time I've done this style of tooling. Learning the conventions of a new form is a lot like learning a language. Quicker than that, fortunately.

The holster is 8-9 oz. top-grain vegetable-tanned leather dyed a deep British Tan, then finished with several coats of Carnauba wax. The stitching is double-needle stitched with waxed linen cord. The strap is secured by a hand-turned Sam Brown stud.

I'm thinking the security strap needs some sort of embellishment...

If you look at tooled leather, you should notice that the edges of the cuts are beveled. That was the comments that an experienced leather worker told me about my tooling. I tried and it made my projects look better. Otherwise, very good job.

Nice first effort with your first decorated holster! I agree, the safety strap needs something too. Maybe some small floral engraving like the pattern on the holster.
