I purchased a P45 a week ago. As always with a new pistol, I cleaned it and lubed it with Militec 1 prior to shooting, read the manual, (mostly), then hit the range. It was freezing cold so I only made it through 80 rounds but that was enough to get me somewhat familiar with the characteristics.

Now this is not my first Kahr, I have a K9 and T9, but this is my first plastic Kahr. Upon re-cleaning, I noticed quite a few black plastic flakes on the frame and on the underneath side of the slide along with some small pieces sticking out the rear between the slide and frame. Is this normal? I don't remember ever seeing anything like this on my other plastic guns (HK and Walther).

I experienced one FTE early on, maybe the third mag, otherwise all went well. This mini .45 is a bit of a handful but that's to be expected considering how thin and light it is. I'm testing this gun with the potential of becoming a CCW. It seems perfect for the role...size, weight, power, accuracy and hopefully reliability. The frame flakes have me a little concerned however. If its a normal break-in thing, fine...if not, then I'll have to re-think.

Thanks for any insight and experiences you've had with this mighty-mite.
