Actually TGAR,
I have benchrested it, and it is the same. I had two other experienced 1911 shooters, like myself, shoot the original trial. They too shot low and to the left. I had a gunsmith friend of mine "push" the front sight to the left 1/16", with his fancy, high dollar, bench mounted pusher, which brought the point of impact to center. I have not had to adjust the rear sight. Now it's just a matter of raising the point of impact by an inch or so. My other three 1911's shoot dead on point of impact matching point of aim. I feel very confident it is not me anticipating the shot or pushing the trigger.
Olympus,
I cut through the center of the bullseye with the front sight. All my firearms, both pistol and revolver are adjusted that way. I have never cared for the 6 o'clock hold.
