my hi point .45 vs my COLT NMGC

My C9 has been flawless with the original mag and another mag purchased at the same time through several thousand rounds. I purchsed a replacement mag and had multiple issues so I put that one in the "do not use" pile until I get around to looking at it. It joined several AR mags, AK mags and 10/22 mags that are also in need of work.

It is my truck gun and gets shot more than any other gun I own other than my .22s because I can pull over in my driveway and fire off 2 mags(17 rounds with +1) as fast as possible just for practice. It is acceptably accurate at 10-15 paces which is all I expect from any of my handguns. I don't foresee the need to shoot at 50 yards with a psitol and do not practice at that distance.

It is not pretty(butt ugly actually) and is way heavier than any gun with limited capacity should be. I have no problem with the trigger or recoil on this gun. I have fired the HP 45 on a few occasions and would not hesitate to buy one if i could find a good deal. I paid less than $100 for the C9. I also have the carbine in 9mm and it is a blast to shoot. I have never tried to shoot either of these guns from a rest. I hate to use the old cliche but "it is what it is". An inexpensive generally dependable firearm for people in need of SD/HD with limited funds.

If HP is so good. Why don't we see em in competitions.
Because they aren't THAT good. Their weight, weird ergonomics and generally bad triggers make them difficult to shoot well.

They aren't high-performance pistols, but they do work. You don't need a race car to get back and forth to work, do you?

I priced them a year ago and they were ~$900.

B.S. Kiddo... try adding shipping and FFL to that... try finding one actually in stock for that price... and it aint a year ago.

Why am I even arguing in this asinine troll thread? I'm gonna go do something productive like cut my toenails. :p

B.S. Kiddo...
So you're basically calling me a liar? Kiddo??? Are we really gonna get personal over this??? A little over a year ago my dealer priced a new Gold Cup Trophy at $950. He had a Springfield in stock. I chose the Springfield because it had nearly everything I wanted for $175 less. Now you can chose to believe that or not, I really don't care.

MSRP on a blued Gold Cup is only $1103. Unless your dealer is charging you the Colt premium, there should be no problem getting one under $1000.

I now buy nothing but very nice high end handguns, no polymers for me anymore but I started out with a few High Points several years ago. The HP 45 is the stellar performer of their line. If you could put a HP45 in a ransom rest it would not surprise me one bit if it shot as tight groups at 50yds as any 1911 because it has a fixed barrel that is solid to the frame. It is blowback operated, not locked breech.
Now, trying to do the same thing in a human hand?......ain't no way!
