My oldest daughter and husband brought my two grandsons (6 and 8) out to our local USPSA match. None of them had seen me shoot a match before. They saw the last 3 stages. Grandsons were high fiving me after the stage.

I've got my SIL out a few times to the range and finally got my daughter out for her first time. She was apprehensive about shooting a gun but ended up enjoying it. Started with Ruger 22/45, then M&P 9mm and even my 45 1911. My SIL said that as soon ss she saw the stages set up she was really excited. He said he could now picture them eventually getting involved. Now that my grandsons are old enough that we can all go it should be a lot easier for them to come out. I belong to 2 clubs where we can have an outdoor bay to ourselves and of course I've got targets, ammo and guns. He has an M&P 45 that I got him years ago. And I've got 22 cal single actions for the boys. I was shoiting pretty well that day and they met some of the other shooters.

That's great to hear.
I remember taking my son to the Illinois state trapshoot when he was a youngster. He was into sports, but had no idea what a big deal a state trapshoot was.
About 15 short years later, I had the pleasure of shooting with him at the Illinois state shoot when he broke his first 25x25, followed by his second 25x25 for a clean 50x50! What a great day!

Just a little update. On Christmas I opened a gift from my daughter and her family and she had been able to have a refrigerator magnet photo pad made with several photos from only a week earlier. My grandsons high fiving me and my son in law shaking my hand just after I finished a stage. She really got a kick out of how we were all grinning ear to ear.
