My L1A1 project is nearly done....pics

So a couple months ago I picked up this L1A1 at a gunshow for $400, its one of the models made from British parts and I couldn't pass it up even though it was sporterized pretty bad.

Well I set about buying compliance parts and new furniture so I could make it look like a respectable EBR. Its now pretty much as complete as I want to make it, I do have an orig British flash hider for it, but I'd need to find someone who could install it for me since I don't have the tools or the skills to do so. I'm pretty happy with it they way it is, after all is said and done at this point I still have less than $800 invested in it. The only thing that I want to add is a bipod, I'll probably buy one sometime this month.

Anyway my Trilux scope came today and so I just had to take some new pics of it. There's also a before pic, yes that crappy photo is also mine, there was no love in that pic it was just a snapshot, but that was then this is now.

I can't wait for this weekend so I can try out the new scope!

Nice rifle.
Now you need a nice Browning Hi-Power pistol to shoot along with it!

I had a 'Klinton Sporter' and it never worked correctly, even though it had the IMBEL receiver and lots of love given to the details.
Just couldn't hang with it - so I bought an AR10...!
Now, I have a .308 Battle Rifle I can live with.

I still miss that old L1A1 Sporter, though.

Yeah a Browning HP has been on my list for years, someday I'll have one.

Too bad about your L1A1, I had an R1A1 a few years ago and it had lots of issues also, I guess you always take a chance with these rifles. So far this one hasn't had any issues, but then again I've only put about a 200 rounds through it, but so far so good (knock on wood).
