I have been using this powder measure with the adjustable charge bar for three years. It has always worked great with W231.
I have measured my charges on a RCBS beam and a digital scale and have always had very good results. This is backed up by a very good "Standard Deviation" when testing loads over a Chronograph.
The other day while reloading 9mm with 4.4 of W231 I saw a case get very little powder. I had let the hopper get below 3/4 full and thought that was the problem so I topped it off. No difference. Every 2nd or 3rd case would get about a half charge.
I took everything apart and cleaned everything. I also used some dry graphite powder on the moving surfaces.
I cycled the press and made sure the charge bar was cycling full stroke and it was.
I changed calibers and tried 4.5 W231 in a .38 case and same results.
I am scratching my head over this one. The measure has always done fine and now it has gone to hell.
I welcome any suggestions. Thanks!
