First off I will say, my LGS has been great to me. I really do appreciate how willing they are to work to get products that they don't have in stock and how fair their prices are on (most of) the items that they do have in stock.

My story, I stopped by today to grab some reloading equipment and asked if they had any powder. They didn't have what I wanted, but one of the owners got on the phone immediately to call a distributor to check on their order. The distributor said that it would probably be 2-3 weeks until their order would arrive, but the owner was able (after talking with them for about 15 mins) to get them to ship it out on Monday. Not only that, the owner is going to hold 2 lbs for me when it arrives next week! The best part? Price is going to be the same as it used to be!

Now, they have marked up prices on some of their items, ARs in particular. Today a guy came in and sold 4 ARs to them.... Nothing special, a couple Rock River lowers and then some franken-uppers I believe. Within 15 mins of buying these from the seller, my LGS had them on the shelves for $1,600 and up..... Good thing I'm not in the market for an AR

I got two local. One has always been pricey except for there mil/leo discount handguns which are now of course gone. The other one is more reasonable and happens to be the one withfar more reloading stuff, but a bit less actual gun selection. Since discovering the 2nd I rarely bother with the expensive one anymore, which has gotten even worse since the panic.

What did your LGS buy them from the seller for? Did they pay him 50% of the $700ish base pricing (ie $350) and sell them for $1600?

ive got a shop here in town that has awesome prices on some guns and reasonable on others. but their prices on mags and accessories are insane and depending on the brand ammo is too. i continue to go here for the service and knowledge. they charge 50 bucks for transfers..

but i have another shop with fair prices on ammo, fair on guns, but has always been high on ARs, AKs, SKS etc. the main reason i go is they have great prices on reloading stuff. but the staff is about on par with walmart knowledge wise. i believe that one of the guys really knows his stuff but tries to dumb it down for the average airman thats coming to blow money from his deployment.

they all have their ups and downs and i try to balance it out.

i have a tactical shop that i befriended the owner of and she recently got her FFL. shes awesome, does a military discount, will order anything you want. but shes still new and lacks the inventory. if its something i can wait on i try to go to her and have her order it, but i still go to the other shops for certain stuff

Negative, they paid (I believe from what I heard) $2,900 for the 4 guns. So about $725 each.

I have 3 local FFLs that will do transfers for me for $15, $10, and $5.... Hard to beat that.
