I call it a (build) because it's not really a build... I don't consider putting a lower and upper together an actual build.

Anyways, here's what I'm ordering...

Defender lower with SOPMOD stock and Standard trigger
16" upper with Standard S/A BCG, Charging handle, and handguards
4 30 round mags

I was curious, what would happen if you ordered without the BCG specified, no charging handle and no handguards.
It wouldn't operate would it?

You'll need a bolt carrier group, charging handle, and handguards from some source to have an operational rifle (well, you don't need the handguards, I guess . . . but you'll want them).

I would get the bolt and bolt carrier from LMT, but you might want to look around at other sources for the charging handle and handguards. You may be able to find standard ones cheaper. If you're wanting rails and such, chekc places like Yankee Hill for features and prices.

I have almost the same configuration as you have. The only difference is that I have a two stage trigger in mine.

My trigger is outstanding. I press it sightly and "bang." It's a crisp 5 lbs. and no creep. A factory trigger equal to the triggers I have on other guns that I've had smoothed out by a gunsmith. What a concept!

I paid $1,400 including tax for mine. For that money it ought to be outstanding :D.

Order the upper and lower in two orders rather than one. That way you'll avoid the excise tax.

I ended up ordering the standard S/A bolt carrier group, charging handle, and handguards from LMT.

Will be 6-8 weeks until it comes in.

I was looking at this with great interest:

LMT : CQB (Close Quarter Battle) MRP (carbine) version

but decided at $1289.00 (+ lower) = ~$1726 , if I want to get that sort of thing, it's more reasonably priced to just get the Sig556.

I should have plenty of fun with this LMT though when it comes in. The plan is, if it works reliably and I'm satisfied, I'll order a duplicate + extra parts to stash away in the safe.

Also, I looked at the two-stage trigger, but figured that's more for competition'ish stuff. Mine is more for SD/HD.

They're extremely nice in terms of quality and concept. I bought one recently to consolidate uppers -- I can basically trade multiple uppers for a couple 5.56mm barrels and a 6.8mm barrel and bolt. Frees up some room in the gun safe for other things :).

I'm thinking I might get it if I'm happy with the LMT stuff.

First I have to wait for this AR to get over here (6-8 weeks) and then it's torture test time.

How do I get something like this Surefire unit that will fit the LMT upper?

In other words, how do you know what will fit before buying it?
