Any thoughts on Lewis Machine & Toll AR 15 uppers and/or lowers?

I am new to the AR build. However I am learning. I have, what seems to be a very tight DTI upper and lower. My rifle now has a BCM large latch "Gunfighter" charging handle and a BCM, CL, BCG, on the way. (should be here by Sat.)

In all honesty, the rifle as it is, is really tight. Everything seems to function fine.

I think that I have an opportunity to purchase a fully complete LMT lower reciever for around $250.00.

I know...supposedly, a lower is a lower, same from everyone. Is this true?

If I did make the purchase; I would have a LMT complete lower, a BCM Gunfighter CH, a BCM CL BCG, and a DTI CL barell (1 in 7 twist, upgrade from the 1 in 9 CMV) with a DTI upper.

I would also have left over for a build...a 7570, fully phosphated, DTI lower, to make a new build off of.

Actually guys...IMHO this DTI stuff is pretty good. I am impressed with the quality of fit. I just think the addition of the BCM & LMT will add to the quality.

Opinions?

Thanks much,

Gunner

BTW: Before I get flamed, realized my header was not quite right. Should have read LMT AR and other parts. Sorry about that

LMT makes fine AR parts and $250 for a complete LMT lower is a good deal, especially since their LPKs are considered among the best and so are their receiver extensions. (This is assuming that LMT parts were used in this lower.)

Since you're leaning toward another build I'd get the lower. I'd leave the DTI stock and reserve the BCM parts to the new build on the LMT lower. Later you could get a BCM upper (or PSA which would save a little money).

I just got another BCM BCG today and it went in my PSA 16" midlength upper. I also did builds using BCM and Daniel Defense complete uppers.

LMT makes superb lowers, and $250 is a good price on one. If you want to build a top-notch rifle, an LMT lower is a good way to start.

Since you're already contemplating another rifle, I'd suggest leaving the DTI rifle as-is, and then outfitting the LMT lower with a new BCM upper to go along with the BCM BCG and charging handle you'll already have. It's hard to beat an LMT/BCM rifle. I have one, and I've been extremely pleased with it.
