I have seen several trigger housing with the reddish color. They were all National Postal Meter trigger housings. They weren't Austrian returns either. May just be the color NPM made them.

How do the pickin's go at the CMPthese days? Is there any finding a gem in field grade just because of its stock?

FMJMIKE ~ According to the CMP website link regarding Bavarian and Austrian carbines with a reddish or 'plum' color were apparently reblued by the Germans as no US manufacturers used this color. Here is link to that page, scroll down to Plum Colored Trigger Housings

Two weeks ago (1/9/10) the north store had a fair amount of rack grades and a few service grades. You really have to pick thru them but there are still some gems in there. I think I handled every carbine if just to gage it.
