A group of us went shooting this weekend and I got to shoot my new to me Mossberg 500. I shot over 150 rounds through it and it held up nicely. I dhot everything from target loads, bird shot, #4, 00 buck and a few slugs. I was ver impressed with its performance. I also notice that #4 seem to have the best pattern and shooting a slug through an 18.5 barrel is not that bad. I just wanted to let everyone know that my Mossy performed flawlessly.

Doesn't surprise me. I had an old 60s Mossberg I sold, still working great, to buy a camo M500 about 15 years ago. Both those guns get the worst of treatment in salt marshes hunting waterfowl. Never been let down by them. Had mine out this morning after ducks. It was a slow morning. I managed four birds. Gun's already lubed and cleaned and put away for next time.;)

No surprise here either. While the 500 series is not my first pick, every one I've shot and the one I owned just kept on working.

Glad you had a good time. Repeat often....

Relatively Inexpensive Great Shooters

While I didn't get the best deal on any of these guns, I am pleased with what I have.....2 R-870's (12 and 20), one M-500 (12)(2 bbls.), and one H&R Topper D.C.(12).:) I think they will be all I'll ever need.
