I had been wanting to put together a dedicated 1911 in .22. I've had a .22 conversion kit for a long time. I bought a 1911 frame at a gunshow not long ago and purchased a "parts kit". I fitted the whole thing together over a couple evenings and test fired a couple hundred rounds through it today. It works great and shoots good. Not bad for about $200 plus the conversion kit that I already had. Later, I'm going to get a better looking set of grips and consider a new finish.

Nice job. I did a similar project a few years ago with an old alloy frame and "extras" from my parts bin.

A dedicated 1911 .22 is a lot of fun!!
