Picked up a Rem 700 SPS Varmint today,

Threw my SS 16x MQ on it

Then found a 20 min rail for it

Need to take a pic of it with the rail and the scope...

Shoot it at 100 yards, with some cheap PPU 168gr ammo

The trigger SUCKS, the bullet hole in the right was ME

Here is the trigger pull weight

8 pounds 3/4oz.

I have the same rifle in .243, first things to go were the trigger and the stock. If you have the cheddar, a Jewel trigger is absolutely amazing.

Very nice - Ive had mine some years now, and it still outshoots me. A Leupold 4-12x scope lives on top of mine. Im looking into a Bell & Carleson stock in the not-too-distant future.

Enjoy!

Nice gun similar to the .22-250 I bought 2 years ago. Some will tell you the trigger is adjustable, they told me mine was too. Mine broke at 7 lbs and I couldn't get it near 4 lbs. Save your sanity and replace it, mine was replaced by a Timney for $120.

Next was the stock by B&C Medalist.

people claim they are adjustable, but i've read too many accounts of the adjustment not staying put. i replaced the one in my 700p in short order with a timney and haven't looked back.

Nice rifle, my little brother has the same one in .270 & he loves it. Good luck with her........

Gorgeous rifle. I know a lot of people shy away from the newer Remington 700's , but I love them. I have the SPS Tactical AAC-SD,and it is the best shooting out of the box rifle I have ever shot. I shoot a 5/8" group at 100yards with factory Federal Match SMK175's. it does better with my 175 AMAX hand loads. I finally got my factory trigger set down to just under 2 lbs., it works great now. I have the Weaver 20 MOA rail on mine. My goal was to take a factory rifle and go the least expensive way and get an accurate reliable 800 yard rifle. I re-bedded the factory Hogue stock to keep it from touching while on a bench or bipod. I went with a Vortex Viper 6.5-20x50. Again, great rifle, glad to see it working out for you... Congratulations...

Went out and did some shooting at 200 yards, cross wind of 20-30 mph. shot 42, 42.5, 43, 43.5 gr of Varget pushing a 168gr sierra matchking.

This was the best one 43.5 gr I would like to think the flyer was me... on inch with out it.

its a start i guess....

I just loaded 50 168gr A-max with 43gr varget. 15 thousands off the lands. well see how they shoot this weekend.

Looks alot longer then Remington 150gr elcheapo ammo

Looks real nice, i assume it is not one of their cheapo crud lines

Took me a good long while to figure out what that was on top of your weigh scale, funny

That is probably the biggest bolt handle i have ever seen

What is that beer, i can not read it

I am glad you like it. As I had said before, I love mine. If you can get the thread locker to break loose, the trigger can be adjusted very low. I have mine just a hair under 2 lbs right now. The key is to use nail polish on the threads when you get it set. It will stop it from backing out. I actually like the x-mark triggers. The set screw on the trigger will not do much for the adjustment weight. I would advise having a gunsmith set it up. I learned years ago with the standard triggers(not a lot of difference in the setup. He used to charge $20 to set them from 1.5-4.5lbs. He did do mild polishing to achieve the lightest pulls...

The bolt knob mod was a success. I really like how much easier it makes it to cycle

Went shooting today... I did not get any pictures of the 100 yard groups "DUR" But when i did my part it was right around 1/2 inch.

Here is a video shooting 500 yards. ( one of the guys swore. in case that bugs you don't watch it)

Changed a few things on the rifle, Put a 20x scope on it and a cheek riser. I like the way it works!

Yeah, I borrowed the cheek riser from a friend who is waiting for his rifle to be re barreled.

Stock and Trigger coming soon..

Went to a spot where I have got a few coyotes in the past. Looking for an opportunistic long range shot on one... after an hour. I decided it was time to go. So I to took a shot on a rock 669 yards away. First shot! man I love this gun!
