Just got around to disassembling my new 51 Navy (Pietta). I got it from Cabela's a couple of weeks ago but just found time to really give it a good going over. It looks good except for a burr here and there. Timing is good and it locks up good. Don't care much for the finish on the grips. I'll probably sand them down and refinish them. And the trigger guard has some tooling marks that need smoothing up.
The only thing I find that I have question about is the plunger has quiet a bit of slop in the guide hole. Is this normal for Colts?
Oh BTW the Pietta gorilla is live and well. One of the nipples was really tight. I had to strain so hard I thought my toenails would curl up. A regular nipple wrench wouldn't handle it. Had to use the homemade one I made for the same problem I had awhile back with my Remy....also a Pietta.
