I sold my fatboy a few months back. I'll be entering the professional job market soon and the fatboy is just too military. I needed to find something that wouldn't look out of place in an office.

I had trouble finding anything that I really liked but I finally settled on a mini-messanger bag produced by a company called Briggs and Riley. I paid more than I wanted but I'm very happy with what I got.

Here's a link to the rest of the pictures (full size available too).

The main body of the Baseline Map bag is 10 inches high and 11 inches wide. It has a large flap with a magnetic closure. I placed a magazine next to the bag to give an approximation of the size. The majority of the bags I found during my search were full sized messenger bags while this bag would probably be classified as a mini-messenger. The strap seems to be plenty long. I have it extended to to maximum and the top of the bag is even with my waist.

The back of the bag has a large pocket held closed with a small piece of vel-cro. The pocket is about 8 inches deep.

The front flap conceals a large pocket on the front of the bag. This large pocket is designed to hold your small items. It has 2 slots for credit cards, 2 slots for pens/pencils, 1 pocket for medium sized items. I have a leatherman and a flashlight in mine. This pocket is probably meant to hold a PDA or a cell phone. It has a fuzzy lining to protect your tech devices.

This pictures are a bit harder to make out. The large central pocket has 1 zippered pocket and 2 non-zippered pockets. The zippered pocket is 11 inches wide and 7 inches tall. The large pocket is a thick plastic mesh. The non-zippered pockets are about 5 inches wide and 5 inches deep. The main pocket also has a key fob to keep your keys in place.

On the right side of the front flap there is a small vertical zippered pocket. This pocket has a very soft lining and appears to be designed to hold a pair of sunglasses. The pocket is 5 inches tall and 3 inches deep.

Nice bag. I'm currently using a B&R bag to tote all my stuff around in a professional environment. I've found their products to be of very high quality.

Seems like a nice bag. What are you planning on carrying? I need to carry a laptop plus accessories so it would be too small for me.

I've got a B&R for a laptop. Expandable middle slot. Lots of pockets and zippers and hideaways. Had it for 8 years and looks brand new. Wears like steel. Pricey but high quality. Great for airplanes where you have to put your feet all over it. Cleans up with a little soap and water.

Ok, guys.

It was funny the first 372 times we heard all these. If you new guys want to find all the off-body carry jokes just search "man purse" in this forum and you can read them without having to clutter up this thread.

So, where does the pistol go?

I can't quite figure out which pocket or sleeve or pouch gets the pistol.

Got a representative picture for that?

Briggs & Riley is good stuff. Another example of getting what you pay for.

The mini messenger bag is a good way to carry weaponry without standing out in a metropolitan environment. Urban camo, if you will.

Two other quality USA manufacturers are Trager and Brenthaven (both here in Washington state).

Trager is a bit more trendy looking, and Brenthaven is made of great quality Cordura in basic black.

I will attest to that.

Briggs and Riley is first rate. I believe they were recently bought out (last 2 years).... but they should still be good.

I have a laptop bag by them that's lasted 7 years now.

If you're willing to go the extra mile cost wise. My personal favorite, and what I carry now is Tumi brand. Plenty of pockets for things, and there is even a pocket in the front that will easily hold a small semi-auto pistol and/or revolver.

HSO: thank you for stemming the tide of juvenile comments. I've been carrying a bag since the Apple Newton (HUGE PDA) came out so I'm passed any possible embarrasment at carrying a "purse". I even call it a purse sometimes. I have no shame.

The purpose of the bag is not really to carry my CCW although I think it could do so with only a little adaptation. I carry my CCW in a 4 o'clock position. The bag elimites the "bat belt" problem that some experience. It carries knife, flashlight, batteries, pepper spray, first aid kit, emergency items, tech gadgets, etc.

The rear pocket is the most convenient pocket to store a CCW but it is also the least supported. I put my CCW in a few places as a test and it caused a bit of sagging in that pocket. A holster would need to be mounted inside (as it would for any off-body carry).
