Picked up a GSG STG-44 the other day and finally got around to taking some pictures of it! I'm pretty excited about this gun, I've always thought the STG-44 was an interesting gun and I'm always trying to expand my collection of WW2 guns and I guess this is as close as I will ever get to adding an STG-44 to the German side of the collection.

Pretty impressive build quality and the wooden crate is a nice touch! I've never held an actually STG-44 but from the pictured I've looked at it seems that GSG did a very good job of replicating the original, hopefully it shoots as good as it looks! Need to order a bunch more mags now!

Anyway here's some pics...

Here it is with a group of other WW2 German guns, seems to fit in pretty well despite not being an original STG-44.

beautiful rifle. I have handled one in a store they are built like a tank. I did not realize the stock came off like that could be shot like a big pistol lol

I saw my second one in a local gun store recently. I was also impressed. Looks like a fun rifle.

I have the GSG and have been around the real McCoy. GSG did an outstanding job with it. It is a great shooter. The only problem is that it gets way too much attention at the range. Folks want to have their photo taken holding it. I play along.

From what I understand an MP40 will be coming from GSG. They wanted to get the STG successfully rolled out first.

You need to beat that stock with some chains a tad, so it'll fit in with the 'vets better--it's too pretty as-is :D

I was actually thinking the same thing when I was setting up the pic, I was thinking how I could give it more of a antiqued look.

That's a super nice rendition (albeit downsized in caliber), of a rifle that was way ahead of its time near the end of WWII. I also really liked the whole packaging effect with the wooden crate.

Very cool-looking rifle. The Mausers are also nice.

A friend who escaped the DDR ("East Germany") around '85 also bought it.

Maybe you can be an extra in the next episode of "Raiders Of The Lost Ark"?
Even the wooden crate looks like the box which was smouldering in the first movie.
