I wish I was in a safe enough location that I could display my guns where they could be seen and not worry about theft. How many guns did you plan to store there when making it? It looks like there will be room for a good many. I have an uncle that put hooks in the inside top front and is able to hang pistols from the trigger guards above the rifle barrels towards the front and this seems to work well. I do like the look of the sassafras that you used. Is that stained or the natural color?
Yes we actually just finished up the piece to hold the guns in place so they won't fall. But to those who have asked, I put a stain on the sassafras and then put a coat on Tung oil on it, and finished it off with two coats of polyurethane. Unfortunately it covers the awesome smell of the wood, but hey it looks nice.
