I've been kicking around the idea of getting a 1911 for awhile--I haven't had one in 15 yrs or so. Went to the shop after work last night and found this first generation Kimber Classic Custom that had just been traded in the day before. Walnut or Rosewood grips, original box, night sights, no firing pin safety.

$429, how'd I do?

You did good. My early (Clackamas-rollmarked) Custom Classic is a tack-driver.

Hard to tell from the pictures, but has the slide turned slightly plum-colored?

You're kidding, right?
You just scored a smokin' hot deal (at least it would be where I live) ... for some reason, the first generation Kimbers around here seem to command a premium. Yours looks to be in pretty good shape (although I note the "idiot mark" below the slide stop), too ...

Let's just say...

You could probably sell it here for a $300.00 profit today. Awesome deal you made! The series I Kimbers are accurate, reliable.

Congrats!

Put some Hogue grips and some grip tape on the front strap and it would look exactly like mine. :D Nice find! You'll love it.

You, sir, are an unmitigated bragger that needs horsewhipping...

Nice... really nice... why does this never happen to me????? :cuss:

One just posted here (THR) for $1,000!!!
