So it took me a while to pick... and I even bought one that I ended up returning the next day because I decided it wasn't the one for me...
But I finally got it. Nothing "fancy," expensive, or powerful, but I love it nonetheless. I'm not a hunter, I shoot purely for the fun of it.
It's a Marlin 925. No modifications, no telescopic sight (yet). When I went to show it off to a friend of mine, he ended up giving me some spare gear -- A nice hard case and a home made stand.
I got it one week ago and had only been able to shoot it at an indoor range (for an hour) until today. I spent 4 hours outside at Eagle Peak. I could have easily stayed longer but I had other things to do.
Most of the time I was shooting targets at 50 yards. (150-175 rounds) But then I discovered I should have moved sooner to the 100 yard mark (75-100 rounds) because I actually shot much better than I expected. In for the first 15ish rounds on each target, at each distance, I kept track on my own "scratch pad" the order of my shots so I could see how well I was progressing, but I'll spare showing a picture of that because it's somewhat sloppy. But I do need to say that my first shot at 100 yards was a dead-on bullseye.
I had a total of six targets, but these two are my favorites.
Please don't make fun. It's my first gun... and as I said, with open sights.
