My new rifle with a question

Hey everyone...well i got my tax return and decided i needed a new toy. I picked up a new savage edge XP in .308 , i should be picking it up on the 12 (i hate waiting periods). Anyways this is my first nice bolt gun and i baught it so i could learn to shoot better at farther ranges, My question is with the 22' barrel and a 1 in 10 twist what bullet weights should i be going for? and any recommendations on ammo for plinking ?

here in california we have to wait 10 days from the time of purchase to take possesion of firearms. so basically anytime you buy any gun you have to wait 10 days till you can pick it up.

A 1 in 10 twist should accommodate anything less than 180 grains, unless you are handloading a really long bullet.
