My new S&W Model 14 that wasn't.

Which came first….?

Smith&Wesson Model 14.
Originally hand ejector of 1898, in .38S&W. Later, .38S&W Special.
Then circa 1940’s, K-38
Circa 1960’s rename Model 14.
Not truly a “M14”. I’m not positive of exact time lines. I’m sure someone else will “correct” me…..

The M1 Garand was refined for the .308/7.62x51 with improved (?) gas system in a process prototype called the T44. Adopted by U.S. military as the M14 in 1957-58.

I initially thought it was going to be an M14 thread… but being in the Revolver section was a giveaway.
