This is the gun that made me want to buy my first suppressor:

I really enjoy shooting it but spare mags have been made of unobtanium lately and no matter what other pistols I shoot the 1911 still remains my favorite, so after hemming and hawing the last four gun shows over this beauty I pulled the trigger last Saturday SIG TACOPS-TB:

I was particularly happy that is has the same thread pitch so I can shoot it with the FNP-45 without changing the piston on the Osprey. I was a little concerned that the sights weren't quite tall enough but the way I beat up the steel plates today proved they were fine.

Initially ran 16 rounds through it un-suppressed with perfect function, and then 216 suppressed using Armscor, CCI Blazer, Wolf and my 230gr reloads. 200 rounds were in my motley assortment of 1911 mags, the 32 were in the four 8-rounders that came with it.

I give it an solid "A" out of the box experience, only issues I had was a couple of failure to go fully into battery in the first couple of mags suppressed (probably wouldn't have happened if I'd ran a box un-suppressed first to give it a little break in), two of my old mags failed to touch the slide lock, and one had a basepad that was too fat for the mag funnel. Not bad that 25 of 28 old 1911 mags worked perfectly.

Ran 75 rounds through the FNP-45 as that is all I have mags for, and its way too hot now to be standing out there stuffing mags. If I can find a mount for the SIG I'd definitely spring for another RMR for it, as no doubt about it, these old eyes have a lot easier time with a dot sight than irons, although the night sights on the SIG had a nice white outline that worked well despite shooting with the sun at about 10 o'clock in front of me.
