My new Turkish made semi automatic is not cycling

Just to make sure it is not the shell variable, I will use slugs next time i am at a range that permits shooting slugs. But I am pretty sure it was the incorrect assembly from retailer.

Dear Friends, Hello again. I am back to square one. In my last post I told you that the gun cycled the 71/2 shells. So I assumed the gun is fixed. However when I went back to the same range and asked the owner to let me try a couple of slugs. He was kind enough to try a couple of slugs and shot the gun himself. Same problem the gun did not cycle. so the gun cycles 71/2 but not slugs. Both shells are 12 gauge 23/4 inch and 1 OZ. So may be i was confused, about the assembly. May it was assembled correctly all along. The problem is now narrowed to the type of shell. It just does not cycle slugs. I read online that some of these guns come with two pistons, light load and heavy load. mine came with just one piston. May be I need to try a heavy load gas piston. Do you know where they may sell shotgun gas pistons?

Hello. Did you read post #52 of this thread?

Yes i did and watched the video again now. So where can i get a piston for heavy load. Mine just came with one piston.

Some Turkish gas semi-autos are designed for use with two pistons, heavy and light of which the Weatherby SA-08 is an example. Some are designed for and only come with one piston, an example of one is the Mossberg SA-20.

I have no idea which style shotgun you have but a light piston will cycle slugs, the only problem being the action cycles faster/harder than it needs to and as such puts unnecessary wear and tear on the shotgun.

Okay. I will just keep shooting the gun. May be after a while of breaking it in, it will cycle the slugs.
