nice, let us now how she works.

I've been thinking about an xd for carry... is the xdm much more comfortable to hold than the regular xds?

Sharp looking XDm, in fact it looks a lot like mine except mine is the monotone finish. I have to ask everyone who owns one of these to call up your favorite holster makers and request they make some leather for these.

fishman i used the smallest backstrap so it feels more like a 1911..I'll try her tomorrow and see how she handles..i was just thinking its a better back-up (1911 is the primary)for HD for my wife 16 rounds of jhps should be fine..

Was the "medium" back strap installed by default with the gun?

I like the original XD40 feel better, but a smaller back strap insert could change my mind.

Curious about the price. At todays gun show Best price was $550 with a lot of worse prices easier to find ($630, $650), best price on a two tone XD40 was $450 ($420 for all black).

hello guys was able to shoot my xdm today, just 50rounds and gotta say i love it!! the trigger is way better than the original, did not have a malfunction but as always 40cal tends to be more snappier than a 45acp so i have to get use to that again..the sights are a lot easier to track after eack shots..here is my target at 15yds with winchester wite box..
the shots at the top was my first 3 or 4 shots until i finally relaxed and pay attention to the front sights..

Nice gun!

I'm very curious about these new XDM's, I think they are lot better looking than the original XD. I held one last week at a local shop and really liked the feel of it and the trigger didn't feel too bad either. However the $675 price tag attached to it meant I would not be walking out with it. Still I wouldn't mind picking one of these up down the line if the price goes drops a little, even if I can find one used.

darth if ever it comes in 9mm i'm sure it wont be CA approved becs its high capacity mags, the 40 is 16+1 the 9mm would be more than that i would say 19+1 and that is a nono in ca

Have you ever heard of 10 round mags. Alot of guns come out with higher than 10 round mags but are still legal here when on the CA approved roster when they got all the crap to be on the list like 10 round mags and mag disconnect safties and etc.

That and if you dont live here and clearly dont know about the laws here, please dont talk about CA.

darth i was just refering to the high cap mags , yes i used to live in Los Angeles,ca so i do know some of the basic laws about what you can and can't have and hopefully they will make the XDM in 9 or 40 that will be CA legal..I heard they are trying to pass a law that you can only buy 50 rounds of ammo in a month??

Oh yeah, thats going to be a fun one. I only really like to shoot 9mm and ive already got thousands of rounds of 9mm. If they change it to where its all ammo and not just handgun ammo then I might cry about it. Ive adapted and and found all the loop holes to get the things I like in this state, this is just going to be more thing to get around.

california proposed law would require an ammo licence and fingerprint to buy ammo. ammo must have microstamp on it, supposedly so that crime scenes with brass can be traced back to the people who buy the ammo. ammo that is not microstamped would be illegal in california. you cannot give more than 50 rounds of ammo a month away to anyone, without an ammo vendor license. the license is expensive and complicated to get, and there is a 5 cent per round tax - 22lr will have $25 per 500 iirc. i'm not stretching any facts, you can google this and this is what i remember to the best of my honest knowledge.

what's stupid is that it's an expensive system, makes ammo expensive to purchase, and criminals will jsut bring ammo from mexico, nevada, oregon, you name it.

this system also does not address reloaders in sport shooting. i'm not from california, but i do sport shoot and know how expensive 2000 rounds of ammo per month can become if they have to be bought over the counter and microstamped.

california is a beautiful state, :) i used to live there... but pretty soon i decided i like visiting it better.

back on topic, the new XD looks interesting. i have the sub xd-9, and wonder what it would fee llike with a new grip. it'd be good news for my fiance with smaller hands and needs the smaller grip panel.
