I bought a H&R 676 yesterday, 7 1/2" bl., and looking forward to shooting it. Paid just under $200 (out the door) when they are 1 1/2 to 2 times as much online plus shipping and background check and receiving fee. I guess it is about 95% (maybe better) condition.

Those of you that own (or have owned one) might like to share your experiences. Please feel free to do so.:)

I do not have that model , but my experience with my 999 Sportsman leads me to believe that you have a fine shooter on your hands. Enjoy.

H&R Model 676

There are two things I might need help with, but " no biggie ".

I would like to get the extra .22 Magnum cylinder that was supposed to be with the original. Gun Parts (Numrich) is sold out, and I couldn't find any other help on "the web". I tried eBay, etc.

Also, the loading gate is a little "floppy" at the top, but doesn't interfere with the function. It'll move all the way to the top or bottom, but has a tendency to go about 1/3 of the way to the right (clockwise). Normal closed position is at 12 o'clock, but can loosely sling over to about 3 o'clock. I can't see any way to tighten the gate.

I'm happy with the gun "as is", but it would be nice to correct one or both of these.:)

I would keep an eye on eBay because something might turn up in the future. I spent 2 years looking for a magazine for a Mod. 1922 Savage 22LR bolt gun that I got at a decent price sans magazine. Checked all over and googled regularly for a couple years and one finally turned up on eBay. Hope you can find one because my newest gun is also a H&R 676 4" version. Picked it up this past March at the LGS for $208. plus tax. It's in about 90-95% condition with both cylinders and the original box and instruction manual. I couldn't resist it.... Have only had it out twice so far and that was just some informal plinking; haven't done any serious accuracy testing yet. So far, though, it seems to be more accurate with 22 mags than 22LR but no matter what cylinder I'm using I wouldn't call this a target pistol. I'm not bad mouthing it as it's a nice, fun to shoot, little handgun and this fall I may even try squirrel hunting with the mag cylinder. For now you could enjoy yours with the 22LR cylinder and once a week or so start looking around on line ( Google is your friend) and even if you don't find one you'll still have a nice little plinking piece. I'm real happy with mine.

Thanks, will try to follow this good advise.:)

Mine was my first ever pistol (Ruger 10/22 came first) from my Dad. Purchased in 1982 for $ 90.10. Don't shoot it as much as I used to but it does get out occasionally. HR676_zps94b8ed32.gif

Wow! What a beautiful gun! Looks like mine, but yours is in better shape.

What length barrel is yours? Mine is 7 1/2 ".

Do you know where I might get a .22 WRM cylinder? Thanks:)

If I measured correctly I think it is 5.5" on barrel length. As far as the 22 Mag Cylinder, I would check Numrich, Ebay and even post some WTB ads, on the various forums.

1st Shoot With H&R 676

Finally shot my 676 today, and it is a good plinker. Not a good target shooter (the gun or the shooter). It is a frontier/cowboy style revolver that shoots SA and DA.

Enjoyed it, and nice that it always went "ka-pow". No complaints.:)

Oh, still looking for a .22Magnum extra cylinder.

Nice find. I've been looking for a .22 revolver (new or used) for a while now, just for the "fun factor." Out of the four gun shops in my area, three had none at all and the fourth had only one, a Chiappa single-action I felt no love for. Wishing now I'd never sold my Single-6 years ago.

H&R .22 Magnum Cylinder

I'm still looking for the .22 magnum cylinder. Been checking all the usual sources. H&R Models 642, 676, 649, 686 cylinders are all the same.
