Okay, let's put this another way. IMHO, (and it appears others as well), of the guns you've listed, NONE are an upgrade from your Taurus. So why bother?

I agree with hobgob. Go with the Millspec, not the GI. The Millspec has a much better set of sights, the ejection port is lowered and the back of the port is scalloped out so your brass doesn't get dinged so bad. In the last batch of 6 that I examined, 4 of the 6 were some had some of the best fitting of slide to frame I have EVER seen on a 1911 factory gun. This includes hundreds of Kimbers, Colts, Wilsons. They rivaled my custom Bullseye wad guns.

I just got a Taurus PT1911 and it is a flaming POS. When am I going to learn to stay away from those pirates? This is my third and each time I get rid of one I say "I will never buy that brand again". Then of course I walk by one a show or see one in the case at a good price and impulse buy it.

Next time I am going to buy a Taurus someome please stop me.
