Really, I liked your response. My little nitpicky-ness would correct some paragraph spacing and so on, but it's not vital to getting your message across, IMHO.

I hear Air America say the same kinds of things all the time against conservatives, so I thought I'd give it a try the other way around.

It wasn't meant to be personal insults at all. Just satire. The same type that I hear and read all the time. Heck, the Colbert Report says worse things. Nonetheless, it's deleted as per your request as I do not wish to offend anybody.

Also, just for the record, every time they refer to us pro-gunners as "gun-toting rednecks" I consider that to be a personal attack. What I wrote at least was 99.9% factual with the only fiction being the mistake I made with the Pu, and the comment about puppies, which was just used to establish the image I was trying convey of Hillary as cold-hearted.

my mistake hso - I suppose I assumed since it's unaccounted for, that it was stolen, as that seems to be the general fear. I mean, obviously it didn't vanish because of its half life as that's a little over 24 thousand years. So it had to go somewhere... or I suppose it could be a clerical error, but you'd think they'd be fairly stringent about things like that with Pu, no?

However, you're right in that it's not confirmed, and also I'm no expert in radioactive materials, so I didn't realize there was a difference between weapons grade Pu and U... I thought Pu was refined just like U is.

I just don't want to offend anybody here as we're supposed to be amongst friends. When I see such a strong reaction to it as was Gordon's, I figure it may be trouble.

More suited to a GOP forum, I reckon - Free Republic or someplace like that. We've got a healthy dash of liberal folk who are pro-2nd here.

It wasn't even meant to be directed at liberals in general. More the majority of liberal legislators and especially the three seemingly most likely Democratic ticket winners (even though Gore says he won't run).

For the record, I'm not even a conservative really. I'm a moderate. So I see humor in both sides of the political spectrum. I don't agree with a lot of things from either party.

Anyways, there have been many requests for me to PM the piece.... I will try to accomodate them.

Mods - if you saw the piece and felt it was too much - please feel free to let me know. I am curious whether I crossed the line or not. Satire can be tricky like that. It's a private forum and I don't want to break the rules.

ok. To avoid posting it on this forum so it doesn't violate any rules, but at the same time accomodating the requests to read it, I've started a blog where I will try to refine my ability to write this particular genre, probably keeping it usually gun-control and politics related (hence "political satire"). I'll try to write an article every so often until I get good enough to be able to write pieces that are worthy of being truly published (I don't think this piece really is - or is even close). I slightly modified it from the original, but it's pretty close.
