Subject: BS.

Sir.
You have indeed written a moronic pc. If you think
for one minute there are no illegal alien gangs afoot
here in the U.S, I suggest you take a look at MS-13.

L.A. also has more gang members than any other
area in the U.S and MANY are illegal aliens. If
you're going to BS with an article portraying the
NRA as some right wing political scare machine
at least try and get your scat right.

The NRA was never meant to be an org that stood
up to fight anti gun bills, laws and politicians, it
was formed to help ex-soldiers get together after
the War between the States as both a way to enjoy
shooting and also a healing process from a war
that cost so much.

It's because of "columnists" like yourself among
other groups who would prefer that firearms be
a thing of the past, that the NRA is so very
important to people who still value responsible
gun ownership and usage.

I'd like to know why you don't have an article
with regards to the propaganda machine, the
Brady Campaign or the Million Mom March ?

In ending, I now realize that maybe your article was
a good thing after all. It has me noting to myself
to renew my membership in the NRA so I can help
in some small way to fight against people such as
yourself and others who would try and deny me
the Right to Keep and Bear Arms.

In the meantime watch this video and ask
yourself where this woman might be now
if she hadn't protected herself from this creep..

His reply.
Thank you for reading the column and for your comments. By the way, just about everyone who writes to me in response to such columns winds up saying the piece encouraged them to renew their NRA membership and/or encourage others to join. You might do well to look for a new stock clincher.

I'm not very good at writing letters, but this fella fired
me up enough to give it a try. I hope some out there
will also address his pc regarding the NRA. I realize
the NRA is not perfect org, but I also believe we'd be
in a worse mess that present without it and it's members.
Thanks for looking, bg

What does he mean about a stock clincher. Is he talking about the teeth of a cat on a stock????? Is it a vise that clinches the stock of a rifle. Is it what is made by the side of my face and my shoulder???

"stock clincher" was a slightly snide way of saying, "Why do people like you always feel the need to mention that you are renewing your NRA membership as though it is some sort of proof that my article was wrong?" Or perhaps it would be better rendered as, "You people always use the same cookie-cutter 'conclusive argument' about renewing your NRA membership and I'm bored by it so please mention the problem at the next gun-nut convention and between the twelve of you try to come up with something new."

What does he mean about a stock clincher.

He is telling bg that he hears "I'm renewing my NRA membership because of you" all the time and doesn't care.

He knows he is lying when he writes that the NRA was formed to fight gun legislation and he probably doesn't care. Most people that will read the article will not do any homework and will take his word for it. His goal isn't to inform it's to push an agenda. His goal is to turn people against the NRA and gunowners.

I don't post stuff that I haven't done, etc. I may
be misunderstanding your reply, but I'm no more a troll
than Nancy Pelosi is pro-gun. All you have to do is click
the links. I found the pc from Teepen on Gun News
Daily yesterday and replied to his spew. That's all.

All of this is standard-issue NRA hysteria. I write here with some entirely unwelcome authority. I was sued for millions by the outfit back in the 1970s for editing a newspaper editorial the NRA didn't like. The suit was thrown out on a summary judgment by a federal court.

I can't believe the guy would actually brag about that. I read it as,

"I published an editorial containing false and defamatory statements of fact about the NRA, but the suit was thrown out because it was impossible for the NRA to prove that I made the false statements knowingly."
