I started out with a savage 110 in 2506 that would not shoot. I decided to make it a 270. I ordered a schlein 1in9 med sportier barrel, hoping it would stabilize 150gr bullets. set of go/no go gauges and barrel nut wrench from Midway. A Boyds AT one stock(still not decided if I like this stock). disassembly and assembly was pretty straight forward no surprises. went to range yesterday with it after some break-in and getting it sighted in. I am fairly pleased. It does like the 150 gr fed premium. Can't wait to see what it will do with a little load development.

I tend to agree. I really like BOYDS price point but the full adjustable At-One has funky grips. Like why is this shaped like a brick and hard plastic when all the other stocks they make are formed and rounded nicely?

I’ve started to really NOT like Boyd’s price point. I’ve bought a lot of Pro-Varmint (formerly Tacticool) stocks from them as direct comparison Year over year, and prices have gone through the roof - when my son turned 2, which would be 7yrs ago, I ordered a Savage Mark II 22Lr and 3 ProVarmint stocks, one to cut to 8” LOP, one to cut to 11” LOP, and one to leave at 12.5” - they were $93 each. Today, the same stock is $197.
Massive improvement over the factory Tupperware, however. I appreciate their costs increased with Covid, but I’m thinking they have started pricing more towards what they CAN charge relative to the market tolerance, rather than what they need to charge to achieve a sustaining profit margin.

The barrel is a 24" med sporter contour. Reason I ordered the Shilen was they were only ones who would do a 1-9 twist and not have a year wait. I wanted one that would stabilize the 150 gr bullets. My browning will hold about 1min out to 300 yards with a 130gr but scatters every 150 I've tried. The little I've shot this one it likes the 150 alot better than the 130. What I tried in it so far is fed blue box 130, fed blue box 150, fed premium 150, fed fusion 130, and win 130 power point. it really likes the fed premium 150gr. holding about 1.5" at 200yrds. It hates the win 130 3" at 100ryds. next summer I will work up a load for it.

Berger and Nosler 150gr will stabilize with 10 twist. I have both and shoot them in a blr 22". According to Berger's twist rate calculator here's the numbers. 2,700fps, 10twist, 35*, 1,000' altitude will meet minimum of 1.5 on stability. My velocity is faster and the numbers go way up. I'm somewhere around the 1.64 to 1.67 depending on temp and altitude around 2,350.

On another note I also have the at1, but for a dbm for 264wm. The stock needs lots of whittling to get the action to set right for the mag to feed reliable. That's my issue with boyd's, but will get resolved. If somewhere along the way it gets screwed up and not usable it was cheap enough for learning.

I have 2 Savage 223 rifles with Boyd's stocks. One is a Spikecamp Thumbhole and the other is an At-One Thumbhole. So I know what you mean by the Square edges. I have also fired a Regular At-One and no I did not like the grip.

That's a common complaint with those stocks.
They offer different "more curved" forends and cheek pieces on their website, don't know about the grips. I have the thumbhole model and never used the grips.
