Hello peeps! finally got my sig 522 yesterday and man this thing is sweeeeet!!I have owned the colt/umarex, S&W MP15-22 and GSG 5's and I will rank this on top of the class!, don't get me wrong all the 22's i have mentioned are good too, probably the smith and GSG 5 are tied for 2nd even though the colt is nice I just did not like the look of the Mags, the smith was fine AFTER it came back for repair. I only have two critique, 1st the mags are really tight and i mean tight, I had to use my power tools to smoothen the sides to make it a little looser, 2nd is if you guys do get one watch outwhen you field strip it, the bolt assembly on mine kinda got dissassemble unexpectedly,I mean the spring came off the very tiny e-clips was a challenge to find but after taking a breather and eating some lunch i got my composure together and was able to put it back together hahaha..Anyway tried it today just 200 rounds and i was able to zero my cheapo red dot in just a couple of shots, I just need to get more mags($17/mag) it takes regular blackdog mags, mine came with several rails to attach but i just used the one for my foreward grips..anyhoodle here it is..

Very nice. What type of red dot did you put on it, and what was the cost for the gun?

smithmax its just an old tasco red dot i have lying around i have since installed a compact scope, becs my red dot keeps goin off on some of my shots hahaha...it was $469 shipped at budsgunshop.com..

Here is a video of me shooting it with the stock folded..It works..

I called sig today and told them about the mags being too tight so they are sending me a new mag and some e-clips..thanks sig sauer..

Not sure if it's a big deal for your use, but you have the rail adaptor mounted backwards. If you spin it 180 degrees, the bottom rail section will be parallel to the barrel (and the forend grip seems like it'd be more comfortable that way).

I have the same red dot on my 522. I figured out today if you wear polarized sunglasses while you shoot the red dot appears much sharper.

I just got mine yesterday and it was the most fun I had shooting a rifle in years! Funny, even with all the accurizing and modifications i've made to my old ruger 10/22 the 522 just "fits" me better. I was shooting silver dollar groups all afternoon at 25 yards (the max at my indoor range) using nothing more than a cheap-o NC-Star red dot sight. Shot 500 rounds for under $40 bucks (try doing that, even with .223 reloads) and only had a few misfires (with Winchester dynapoint).

Pretty much ate anything I threw at it. Ran Aguila super velocity, federal AE lead solids, remington GB's, the winchester DP's and some federal game-shock. Most problems with the game-shock (pretty square-nosed HP round).

Love the accuracy!
