So its that time to make the big upgrade for uspsa.i am very excited about this and will post the progress as it goes about.

I am taking a Springfield Armory 1911 "Loaded" and upgrading it to what i need her for.The gun is finally broken in and let me tell you. she is very reliable. No problems at all with factory ammo. But i am still working up oal in the reloads for her.

Today the slide is going to be sent out to Dawson Precision, for a sight upgrade.

1. DP serrated black adjustable rear
2. 185x100 tall Fiber optic front.

--------------------

In the next few weeks we will be ordering the parts then dropping her off at the local 1911 gunsmith to install

1. Dawson's extreme engineering trigger kit (Fit and install)
2. Action job tuned to 4lb.
3. Dawson ICE Magwell and mainspring housing
------------------------------------

Lastly i will be removing the pachmeyer wrap around grips, and going back to the factory checkered grips. The wraparound i found makes mag releases much harder under stress. Then i can add some grip tape to the front of the grip.

-------------

I have 6 wilson 47T mags, possibly i would like to find a way to incorporate the grip tape onto them to make them easier to grab.

Man you're lazier than me! Sending the slide out to have someone push some sights onto it is way overkill.

Heck, I'll do it for you.

I figure it this way. If I'm going to do this I want Everything done top notch. This is a tool I am going to have the rest of my life. So if I have to wait a little longer or pay a couple extra dollars. It gives me piece of mind knowing all the work is warrantied/guaranteed.

My next 1911 I would like to learn on and do the work myself.

But I am very excited about this little project

Tell me about it. I'm sitting here saying I ruined my gun. I gotta take it apart one more time and see what I can see. Otherwise I gotta bring it to the shop

Sear spring tension was off, grip saftey fixed... Thank god

updated: UPS brings the slide at 1pm on thursday then off to the range we go
