I posted pics of my ultra-varmint AR in progress earlier. It's closer to done now with the addition of a Burris XTR 3-12x50. Scope has 1/4" clicks, 60 per rev, illuminated BDC mil-dot reticle, turret parallax, etc. A feature I've never seen on another scope, and which I really like, is that the hash marks can be moved up and down independently of the turret position so the knob intersects the true zero indicator underneath.

Only thing I dislike is that the power adjustment rotates the whole eyepiece, which is a pain with flip-up caps. I'll probably leave it at 12x most of the time though. Rings are also Burris XTRs, "high" model. Only things left are a good suppressor, bipod, and an accu-shot monopod.

Barrel is a 26" custom WOA with M4 ramps and a threaded muzzle. Troy rail, Stag upper/lower, LMT BCG, Magpul PRS.

The rifle is SWEET but I think your going to want more power for the scope if your going to be poping prairie rats.

Looks heavy how much does that wiegh?
Oh, it's heavy alright. Over 12lbs on my crappy bathroom scale, and it still needs a couple more pounds worth of bipod, monopod, and can. I didn't build this one to be a "carry it through the woods" rifle. It's more like a "find a flat piece of land a few hundred yards from a p-dog town and don't move all afternoon" rifle.

I think your going to want more power for the scope if your going to be poping prairie rats.
Meh, I think 12x will be sufficient for the "usual" .223 varmint ranges. I can keep .308 on a hanging bowling pin from 300 with lower magnification if the wind is calm. Groundhogs aren't any smaller than that.
