Well, we finally made the transition. For the past few years my wife has been totally anti-revolver. Would not shoot anything but a Semi-Auto. Problem being that her Semi was a little too big to tote around in her purse on a regular basis. The last time we went to the range, I had her try my Model 10. She said it wasn't bad but she preferred the auto.
Next chapter: We set out to find a small semi auto that she could "purse". Went to the see the nice lady at the gun shop. Our mission: The Keltec P32.
First off, she was totally befuddled by the manual of arms. Pull the mag out, rack the slide, put the mag in, try to test the trigger with the slide open....
You get the idea. So then we asked to try something else. We looked at the Beretta bobcat. Tip up the barrel, put the mag in, release the safety, Why do I have to tip up the barrel?...... You get the idea.
She then anounced " I don't like any of these things!" For her they might as well have been rubics cubes.
"Do you have any Airweights?" I asked. "Well, no airweights, but I have some snubs". So we wander down to look at the revolvers. My wife has always hated my Taurus 605 with it's heavy trigger and reset. They had a really nice Smith model 36, pinned barrel, blued, wood stocks, in almost perfect condition. I asked if we could see it, checked for endshake, the timing and the trigger. It was light and smooth as glass. "Why don't you just try this?"
"Wow, this is pretty good!" she said as she snapped off click after click. It was also pretty light and the grip was perfect for her hand size. The clerk also showed how she carried a similar model with no problem whatsoever.
Already too long story short, She purchased it along with some federal 110gn low recoil hydrashocks (I know, not the most potent round) which I knew she would have no problem with. Don't want to scare her off now.
She carried it all day today in her purse, no problem.

Oh happy day! :D
