So, I think it's time for me to post a good review. A few months back I purchased a Leatherman Kick. I had often fantasized about having one of the SOG multitools, but their prices are just out of my reach. I would have really liked to have the Leatherman with the blade made out of 154CM. However, as it would come to be, I have this "Lowly" Kick with only its Stainless blade. Well, I have carried this Leatherman hunting, shooting and fishing and it has yet to let me down. The blade has held an edge well and only required a few strokes on a Translucent Arkansas Stone and a quick strop on some Jewelers Rouge. Having a pair of pliers and screwdrivers quickly on hand has been invaluable. The pliers have retrieved many a hook from many a fish's mouth and the screwdrivers have turned many a screw. I would still like to have a better multitool with more implements at my disposal but for what I paid, I am EXTREMELY satisfied with this tool. Some day I will buy one of the SOG's and retire my leatherman to a fishing box or back pack. I even used the pliers to help me fetch a box turtle out of a hole! It was HUGE! I was with my grandfather and my cousin and neither one of them thought it was a box turtle because it was so big, but it had all the markings! I used the pliers to turn him in the hole a little while he was hissing at me before I stuck my hand in to pull him out. The bottom line is that to those new to knives; I think a good investment would be a quality multitool. Surprisingly enough, the leather case is still in very fit shape. On a secondary note, in order not to post ANOTHER thread, has anyone had any issues with LEO's concerning Assisted Opening blades? I recently settled on my EDC load out which includes my leatherman, my Benchmade Monochrome and my SOG Twitch II. I chose the Twitch II over a CRKT Falcon, M-16 and Rollock based on the reviews of CRKT's not holding an edge. I think the Aus-8 on my SOG is superior to that of CRKT's. Has anyone had any trouble with LEO's declaring an A/O a switchblade? I also considered carrying a Case Trapper or Russlock with black bone handles. I turned the Cases down due to the fact that I think they are far too pretty to drag about the wilderness and scuff up, or gods forbide, loose.
