I have been working on my little PA63 for my wife to use as a fun pistol and as a potential carry gun.

First was the barrel. Gone. Replaced with a threaded .380 barrel installed by me. At the same time, the recoil spring, firing pin spring, and hammer spring all were replaced with Wolff springs. The recoil spring was a 13 lb extra strength and the hammer spring was 13. The factory hammer spring was listed at 16 lbs, and I figured that was due to the hard berdan primers of most East Bloc ammo. I had switched over to the 380 therefore it would be a moot point to get the extra oomph of the factory spring. So far the pistol hasn't had one FTF and I have fed it as varied a diet as possible. So far, Winchester, Remington, Magtech, CCI, Monarch and Wolf non-lacquered. Total round count would be about 500 rounds, cleaned twice in that period. Accuracy was quite good as well with all ammo shooting more than well enough to qualify myself or a friend that came along with me in the practical portion of the Texas CHL requirements.

The latest mod finally arrived from Budapest, Hungary. Gustav and Dennis Marschalko of Marschal Grips sent me a beautiful set of walnut red-stained grips. I am now thinking that perhaps I was hasty in giving this pistol to my loving wife. She has my 1911, er, her 1911. Now she has this pistol. Ah well, it is a good investment. I have the obligatory pics before the cry goes out as well. :)

The thumb rest is gone, making it a nice shooter for off-hand practice (she and I are both right hand), and it just plain looks nice in my opinion.

Last thing I really have left is the finish. I am going to leave that to her. A few gun-show walk arounds will help her out there in choosing a finish.
