Hello folks here is my new CCW piece that i got, I just wanted a reliable and accurate pistol and i have good experience w/ XD's, I choose 9mm becs its still affordable to practice and have enough stopping power and + I already have the Xd service in 9mm too, I bought the truglo separately and the shop installed it for me today..I shot 150 rounds today and it feels great on my hands and ofcourse accurate and reliable too..anyway here it is..

You like the grip on the short mag?
My main CCW is an XD40SC and I had to add a Pearce Grip Extender as I just didn't like my pinky danglin'!

I was planning on getting the grip extension too just can't find it here in our town yet..

I was going to ask how bad the recoil was on the SC, then I saw where you said you put 150 rounds through it in a day. Soooo nevermind. How accurate was the little thing? I was scared it might give up a lot with that short barrel.

basicblur, can you tell me how bad the recoil on the.40 is? I am going to get the wife a SC for our anniversary in a couple months and I can't decide between the 9mm and the .40 I would rather have the .40 but I am worried the punch might be to much.

One other thing, Is the grip on the SC large enough to get a Weaver stance on?

Xd9sc

I've had one of these for a few years. The short mag definitely needs the Pearce grip extension. I can shoot it quite well out to 50 feet one hand or two, 100% reliable so far.

My snap answer would be get her the 9.
While I have no trouble with the recoil, I've told many folks if I had it to do over again, I'd probably get the 9 instead of the 40 hopefully for less muzzle flip.
Unfortunately in my neck o' the woods, it's tough to try before you buy-I wish I'd had the option of shooting the 9 and 40 for comparison.

With the advancements in SD ammo, I've tended to move down in caliber size over the years.

congrats, i love my xd service model, and at one time i had a xd sc, i was impressed with it's accuracy from such a short barrel, it was 100% reliable, and i kinda hate that i didn't keep it.

Looks about the size of a Glock 26?
What's the height from the base of the magazine to the top of the rear sight?
