Alrighty,
Went to the range today, and had a crappy start. The club I belong to was rained out, and there's no way I was getting there in anything other than a Jeep...and I don't have a Jeep. So I figured I'd stop by Wally World to pick up a case of "white box" for the session at the indoor range. Well, I find out that my Wally World is no longer carrying guns or ammo , which means I have to buy the ammo at the range ($17.50 for fed AA).

I get to the range, and I brought with me: XD 45 tac (duh.), new SA "WWII" milspec, and my Nighthawk Talon. I put about 20 rounds through the milspec...no surprises, I just needed to figure out what I want to have done to it before I send it off, and shooting it is the best way. Much to my surprise, it looks like the only things will be the sights, MSH, and maybe a new trigger.

Next up. XD45 Tac. Absolutely monumentally...boring. Very soft shooting, trigger was pretty good (although I'm considering getting the trigger reset worked a little), reliable as all get out, and as accurate, if not more, than my USPf. I never got to shoot the Nighthawk because the ammo in the XD didn't last long. It ate it all (180 rounds) and wants more. :) Only changes I'd make are...

-the trigger reset (but I may just leave that as is)
-change the sights as I don't like the typical "three dot" setup. (hopefully, YoBo will make their "Pro-Grade" sights for the XD hint hint Jason ).

Next week, I'll get the XD and the USP out the range for a "head to head" comparison. If the XD keeps shining, there may very well be a very little used USPf for sale soon.

Otherwise, the pistol was boring...in the best way possible.
I'm shooting the snot out of this one. I broke it down and gave it a "once over" cleaning last night (in anticipation of it's maiden voyage), but other than that, I'm not doing ANYTHING until it stops to see how long it will go.
