Did you have it rechambered? A 28 is normally a 357.

That is how it was at the gun shop when I bought it. Someone must have rechambered it because I don't think S&W produced any that way/

A whole lot of work, for a gun that already exists. Back then, it was probably cheaper to just buy a Model 57 than do all the work to make a Model 2 shoot .41 Magnum.

Back in the day as used 28s where CHEEP as a new one was under $200 it was a lot cheeper and common to do a barrel and cylinder swap than buy a 41 or a 44 back in the dirty harry craze days and out of stock 41 and 44 guns that went for 3 times the cost of a new 28 if you could find one. I really really like the perty engraved gun picture. Do like N guns too as have a 25, 27, 57 and 2 629s and would have more but for the wife squealing on the cost of them now.
