I am looking to buy some new powder and have recently thought of trying out some Vihtavuori line of powders after hearing some great things about them. I will be using them primarily for my .223Remington bolt action with a 1/12" twist. I mostly load 52-53gr. HPBT from Sierra or Hornady (if i can find them). What has been everyone's experience with these three different powders and how do they compare with eachother in regards to accuracy and velocity copabilities? And what is the advantage to the N530 compared to the other two?

My issue is I am going to be ordering powder online, therefore end up with a Hazmat fee. I have no access to any decent powders anymore locally as they don't seem to coming in stock anytime soon. So I'm planning on buying an 8lb. jug of whatever I decide on and just learn to like it. Ramshot powders aren't out of the question either so comments on those are welcome as well.

Have tried 133 & 135 in .223. Accuracy difference was minimal between the two, with slight advantage to 135.Velocity was significantly better with 135.
Have zero experience with 530.

VV133:52gr Sierra match kings,50gr Nosler Ballistic Tips ,55gr Ballistic Tips,55gr Sierra Blitzking :in two ARs & a Ruger 77.

VV135:55gr V-max,55 Sierra blitzking,55 Nosler Ballistic Tips,60gr Hornady Spire points, in same Ruger & one of the same ARs & one AR that wasn't involved in the first batch.

Ruger 77 is 22" bbl..1-12 twist
All ARs are 1-9 twist,with 16",18" & 20" included.

Compared to other powders that you have tried is it worth the extra money they get for this stuff? Have you acheived as good of performance with the less expensive stuff? Sorry to bombard you with questions.

My personal favorite for .223 has been H 335 for many years. After a fair amount of testing this spring,VV 135 may well be my new favorite. It's equaled 335 in accuracy, and has shown huge potential for higher velocities.(at least in the few rifles/loads that I've tried)
No "one" powder will be the "best" for all rifles/loads,even same caliber rifles.Trying your rifle/load "combos" on a calm day with some sandbags, several different load combinations,a chronograph, and plenty of time on your hands is the best place to start.
Assuming VihtaVuori Oy is what you decide to try? You're only talking about three of four pennies per round over the "cheap stuff".
Is it worth it? I can't say,I'm still deciding.

N133
A choice of many bench rest and standard rifle shooters
who are using 6 mm PPC. Used also in many loads of .222
Remington, .223 Remington and as well in other applications
where a relatively fast burning powder is needed, like in .45-
70 Government. Similarly burning powders are Norma 201,
Hodgdon H335 and Vectan SP10.

N135
An excellent powder for .308 Winchester loads with bullet
weight less than 10 grams (155 grains). It will fit applications
similar to IMR4064, Hodgdon H4895 or Accurate 2520.
Capability for various loads ranging from .17 Remington to
.458 Winchester Magnum.

500 Series
Adding nitroglycerol to the traditional single base powder
makes possible in addition to geometry and coating a third
controlled variable of ballistic properties: energy content.
Vihtavuori calls powders which have nitroglycerol added
(maximum 25 %) high energy NC-powders, which form N500
series.

Geometrically the powders in the N500 series are equal to
the N100 series. Although these new powders have a higher
energy content, they do not cause greater wear to the gun.
This is because the surface of the powder has been treated
with an agent designed to reduce barrel wear.
N500 series powders work well at different temperatures,
even better than the traditional N100 and N300 series.
Temperature sensitivity naturally depends very much on the
weapon and on the cartridge. The manufacturing technique
employed permits a very high bulk density, which in turn
makes it possible to use a bigger charge in a certain limited
loading volume.
Vihtavuori High Energy powders are available in for burning
rates:

N530
This is the fastest burning powder in the N500 series and
its burning rate is close to Vihtavuori N135 and Hodgdon
BL-C(2). Developed especially for the 5,56 mm NATOcartridges
and it gives excellent performances in many .45-
70 Government loads and also in .308 Winchester loads with
bullet weight less than 10 grams (155 grains).
