NAA Companion - what type of springs?

What type of springs does the NAA Companion and Super Companion use? Coils? Flat? Anybody ever break one?

flat. mine have never broken. i am pretty sure that NAA tempers them so they last a lifetime!

Mine is shaped like a flat spring, but is actually rounded.

Had the mainspring on my .22 mini break after about 200 rounds. Just snapped in two at about one half it's length. NAA replaced it & I have never had a problem since............that was way over twenty years ago & that gun's seen a LOT of shooting since then.

I'll add that I've known a lotta fella's that own and carry that design & mine is the ONLY one I've ever heard of malfunctioning............
