Anyone shot one of these things? I like the super compact design. It has adjustable sights, and a 4" barrel. If it shoots a decent group at 20yds I want one. I would be using it for carrying in the deep woods for plinking, small game. Anybody with experience? Fill me in.

Thanks,

I don't have a Mini-Master, but I do have a NAA Mini .22 Mag w/ 1 5/8" bbl that I've had for years, and recently bought one of the new Pug models, w/ 1" barrel. As such, the Pug is the one I've recently been shooting, and off-hand I was getting approx 2" groups from 10 yards, using CCI Maxi-Mag ammo. I suspect a larger grip would help dramatically tighten groups.

You are going to have lots of folks speaking well of the NAA mini's. I have one with the 22. 22 mag cylinders. Fun guns to shoot and carry. I did get to try on the the adjustable sight versions and I have a mixed feeling on it. It sort of defeats the purpose of the NAA's.
Even with the bigger grips and adjustable sights I cannot say it was "accurate" in the same sense as what I consider the 22 to be capable of.
We had no problem shooting tin cans at 30 - 40 feet. If you do go for this let us know how well it works for you.

NAA produces fine handguns.

I have 2 NAA 4" BBL Adj Sight Mini Masters:

Mini Master .22Mag/.22LR
.22 Mag Cylinder --- 2" at 15 Yrds (5 shots Sandbag Rest)
.22 LR Cylinder ----- 2.5" at 15 Yrds (5 shots Sandbag Rest)

Mini Master .17HMR
.17 HMR ---- 2.5" at 15 yrds (5 shots Sandbag Rest)

Keep in mind these are not designed to be target grade pistols. :scrutiny:
Also, I would recommend the Pre 2003 large checked Rubber grips. These
are no longer available from NAA but can be found at Gun Shows. They are larger
than NAA's present day large rubber grips and provide a much better grip, a plus
when taking those longer shots.

I have been looking for a mini master and/or a black widow for a while now. The smaller NAA revolvers I own are amont the least accurate guns I own but I understand their purpose.

Thanks for the excellent info gentlemen,

Yeah I wasn't expecting an olympic match pistol, but by all accounts they seem like a good choice for me. I have a Ruger 22/45 which is great for a small auto, but I want an even smaller package for a general emergency game getter and something to have close at hand whenever I'm in the woods. You guys made up my mind, I need one.

My Black Widow is about 1/2 minute of beer can accurate at 15 paces. Which is good enough. Fun and Loud, but I'm thinking of selling it, it just doesn't get used or carried, and I would have more use for a 22 Auto.

I've considered the mini-master too and much appreciate the accuracy info. Seems my cheap POS, but reliable and accurate Phoenix Arms HP22 is about as accurate as the mini master. It fits in a pocket in a home made pocket holster and I've shot snakes and small game with it in my outdoor activities. Yeah, it's a zinc POS, but it works. It's got a 3" barrel and puts CCI stinger into 3" at 25 yards to POA. It will do better with cheap Federal Lightening and the optional 5" barrel I got for it, 2" groups same range, but it's not a pocket gun with that barrel. The whole appeal is usable outdoor gun accuracy in your pocket. YMMV, but I'd as soon have my HP22 along on a hike in the woods. :D It's rabbit killin' accurate at 25 yards with the 3" barrel on it and I've got quite a few thousand rounds through it. It needs a new recoil spring every now and then, wears limp eventually. The spring sort of reminds me of those springs in a retractable ball point pen. But, hey, the gun works and I'm used to maintaining it. If it didn't shoot so good, I would still be looking. The accuracy given above for the NAA mini master is in the ball park for useful IMHO and I'd think you could play with different brands of ammo and maybe optimize any specific gun. I've found RWS target and, of course, Eley match, can wake up a gun. However, at the price, those are not plinker loads. LOL

I too was thinking of the Mini-Master or BlackWidow but opted instead for a used S&W 34 with the 2" bbl. Perfect for pocket carry & easier to reload.
YMMV.
