I just picked up a Japanese nambu type 12 and had a quesiton on it. I donlt have any ammo for it yet, but picked up a snap cap. When i pull back the bolt to eject the round, It dosn't eject out the top. Just sits on top of the mag.

Is this normal for the type 14? I am not familier enough with it to know. If not any idea on what the problem is?

Thanks for any info.

Yeah, a snap cap is a bit heavier than an empty cartridge case and Japanese handguns have a reputation for less than powerful springs.
Bolt velocity is a whole lot faster when the gun is cycling than when you are just yanking back on the bolt too.

It will most likely function just fine with good quality ammunition.

I did take it apart and everything looks good. Haven;t had a Gun to not eject a snap cap. But like Onmilo said, could just be the type of gun. Now as soon as Glads send me my Ammo, I can find out.
