Okay, here's another shot of it (less the grip and stock - most of my photos are of the internal parts). And for a hint, it is an experimental piece developed from a commonly known gun that ran like a fine clock. I've got a nice shiny red apple for whoever can figure it out.
I just noticed that it has some similarities (at least in my mind) with the PTRS-41 (an anti tank rifle designed by Sergei Simonov), but that's not exactly a well known gun... maybe another hint???
Ok, I will posit that it is a version or prototype of the development of the Swiss stgw57
somewhere between the Ak46 and the AK53, with a blow forward action or a version of gas trap.
That said, the trigger guard is off on it, even if the rest isn't (but stock looks later in the iteration towards the 57) but the trigger guard and grip has a milled look instead of stamped and bent.
I'm pretty sure nobody will find reference to this one online or in anything but the most obscure published pamphlet. The only way to know it is to recognize it from previous experience or figure it out from my more subtle clues.
I'll be posting all the photos on my web site in a week or two, and then there will be a Google-able reference to it.
