Place an order for 357 and 45 caliber. THey had the the 357 LSWC, but could not fill the 45. After endless excuses over the month I finally cancelled my order.

I just called and talked to Keith at National Bullet. He told me "we're making them right now", meaning 230gr lrn. He said my order should go out this week.

I hope he is right. I only have about 300 left and that can be shot up in a day easily.

i had a similar experience to MGK but i'll elaborate.

they have been backordered on copper since before christmas, its really not their fault, they could do better communicating that but they really dont unless you call them. after a couple months, i asked to change my order to all lead instead of half lead half copper and they sent my order out very quickly and the bullets have performed very well

i ordered 158 38 cal LSWC (1000) and 500 200gr 45cal LSWC since i ordered copperized bullets and ended up with lead, they did right buy me and gave me over 600 lead bullets in 45.

their communication isnt great, but their product is. i would definatly order more lead from them; though if i wanted copper i'd call and check their availability first. they had a tendency of just saying "next week" for a few months on that one.

all in all i would recomend them with those restrictions in place concerning lead v copper jacketed

I like them fine. :)

I've used 230 lrn for .45 Auto, 250 swc in .45 Colt, and some .44's.

Fine bullets... good as any, and priced attractively.

I have used thousands and thousands of swaged 148 HBWC from National Bullet.
The same with 152 LSWC in .45
The service has been good, the bullets first rate.

my experience has been the same as trickyasafox...

I ordered 500 copperized 45 bullets just after thanksgiving. Haven't received them yet. Had one email offering to send me plan non-copperized right away - I sent back an email saying yes - send me plain lead. That was over a month ago now and I still haven't seen any bullets.

Thanks for the reminder - I need to get these people on the phone.

Overall, nowhere near my desired buying experience and once I get either a refund or my bullets, they won't be getting any more orders from me.

Well I'm here to tell you that if you want 230 RN copperized you are screwed. I've had some on order for over 2 months and I've had to call at least 8 times and keep getting the excuse they are at the platers. 2 weeks ago they said they are getting every bullet they had back from the platers that week and the orders would go right out. Called back a week later and he said my order was going out the next day. Called back today and he said they are out of bullets and my order was now backordered.

The bullets are great, the customer service is total crap and has totally pissed me off. If you don't have the bullets then just say you don't and you have no idea when you'll have some more.

With the amount of people on gun boards these days a bad rep will happen quickly. I'm making another thread asking where is the cheapest I can get some 230 RN. I need em bad!!!

+1 on Berry's. I've been shooting them for years and the quality is great and the people are really nice to deal with. My last order with them in February was for 22,000 bullets at the SHOT Show. The first part of the order arrived the day I got back from the Show.

They make all their own bullets and do their own plating, so there's no waiting on outside vendors. I also recommend their plastic ammo boxes, which have a lifetime guarantee and are cheaper than anything else on the market.

Hope this helps.

Plus free shipping.

A bit picky, perhaps, but the shipping cost is built into the price of the bullets. Therefore if you live 50 miles away or 2,000 miles away, the price is the same. In fact, if you pick up the bullets at their shipping dock the price is the same; no price break for no shipping.

National Bullet (STAY AWAY)

I called today to make sure that my order went out yesterday (like I was told). NOPE haven't shipped yet. They didn't seem to care that they were being dishonest at all, it was like its an everyday occurance, no big deal.

I asked them to refund my money. I hope they get that right.

Pretty sure I'll be contacting Berry's next.

I had a disappointing and aggravating experience reloading their copperized bullets.
There was so much "flash" on the bottom of the bullet and excess lube in the groove that I had to bell the case mouth excessively. The cases looked like blunderbusses and still the bullets wouldn’t consistently sit on top. If I didn't bell that much I had to clean each cartridge of excess lead and lube before I put it in the magazine. I also felt that their tolerances were not very tight. Bullet weights varied by up to 10 grains and their 200 grain bullets averaged at 205 grains.

Maybe I'm being overly critical but I will not be purchasing from National Bullet Company again.

Overall, I've had really good experiences with these folks:
http://www.laser-cast.com

Their bullets are first-rate, little or no leading, and they are very helpful if you give 'em a call. I've also had good luck with Rainer and Berry's Preferred.
Never a problem.:)
