The National Park Service (NPS) prohibits citizens of the United States from possessing a firearm in any property that they administer (via regulation 36CFR2.4). The prohibition is immoral as it results in the deaths, rapes, assaults, and maulings of American citizens who visit National Parks. The prohibition is illegal as it violates the letter and intent of the Bill of Rights.

Our goal is to get the NPS to recognize state issued concealed firearm licenses so that citizens can carry defensive firearms within National Parks. For the specifics of our proposal, click here

This website exists to provide you with information about the regulation, why the regulation should be changed, our attempt to get the regulations changed, as well as provide you with important resources so that you can help us get this ban overturned.

(We need your help, but we're NOT asking for money)

WE NEED YOUR HELP IN ACCOMPLISHING OUR GOAL OF RESTORING OUR CONSTITUTIONALLY PROTECTED RIGHT TO SELF DEFENSE AGAINST CRIMINALS AND DANGEROUS ANIMALS IN OUR NATIONAL PARKS.

The National Park Service administers 389 sites which encompass 84,426,196 acres of public land. As a citizen of this country, you are prohibited by the Federal Government from exercising your Constitutional rights on these millions of acres that we, the people, own.

Your government is so concerned about your safety that, while in a National Park, you are safe from second hand cigarette smoke via Executive Order 13058. It's comforting that the government worries about the threat of exposure to second hand smoke, but criminals and dangerous animals provide a more immediate and demonstrable threat to your family's well being.

LET'S GET THIS BAN OVERTURNED !!!

Use the links in our INFO ZONE, above on the left side of this page, to learn about the gun ban, crime and animal attacks within our National Parks, and what can be done to get this ban overturned.

Your web site is still unreadable. I pointed this out to you in a previous e-mail which you ignored.

Other people pointed this out publicly on packing.org, which you ignored.

If you can't take the time make a page viewable without having to scroll back and forth, then I'm not going to take the time to read the web site.

44 brent: This website is easily viewable with no horizontal scrolling on my computer; all I had to do was switch off the favorites column.

Comment: Gale Norton replaced Bruce Babbitt, who was a disaster for personal rights in so many ways (property rights especially). Dept. of Interior, through its member depts. (BLM, NPS, BIA), routinely crush individuals who take issue with their rulings; many of which seem designed to destroy private activities on or around the land they administer.

Question: Gale Norton has been in office for 2 1/2 years; has she done anything to begin to undo the legacy of Babbitt the land confiscator? I have seen nothing. BLM is still acting like a 800 pound gorilla in the western US, concerning ranching activities. So I'm looking for some signs that Norton is taking Interior in a positive direction...in the words of Dr. Evil, "throw me a freakin' bone here!"

Sorry dude!
didn't get no email from no one yet!
B'sides this aint "my" website. I found it on one of my frequent
visits to pack.org and wanted to share it with all my friends.
I don't know nuthin bout computers (ask Jim March,he'll agree).
I live a couple a hours from Yosemite and it gets me angry
that I cant (legally) pack my pistols in there but
one yard outside park you can wear open carry in your campsite.
...I would hazzard a guess that sumthin's wrong with yer computer
...I wish I was smart enough to make a website but I'm not.
I can write a song and play guitar though....

I don't have a "Favorites" column to turn off. In this day and age of "user friendly" web sites, users don't expect to have diddle around with their browsers to view text.

I strongly support the web site operator's objective. However, he has been repeatedly asked to fix the formatting problem (which is VERY easy to do). Do you think a Congressional staffer is going to take the time to scroll back and forth to read the text? Do you think they are going to call their IT help desk to request a bigger size monitor? I doubt that also.

gunsmith, I apologize for aiming my previous comments at you, as I thought you were the web site author. The author got quite a few complaints on packing.org about formatting problems.

I have built several web sites, and the formatting problems are easy to fix. The problem is fixed by getting rid of fixed-size fonts and fixed-width columns.

I was at Yellowstone last month, and I picked up a brochure at the entrance warning visitors that people had been killed by wild animals. Yes, I believe it is outrageous that people must give up their right to self defense in National Parks.
