I just found out that the Cumberland County Sheriff's office requires a passport style photo of the applicant for a Concealed Handgun Permit. The County I live in does not require a photo, nor is a photo required by the Statutes. (The permit does not have a photo on it, and a Gov. issued Photo ID has to be carried for the permit to be valid.)
Of what possible use is this photo? Seems to me it would just sit in the file cabinet. How can they require something that isn't in the Statutes? Doesn't this put an extra burden/cost on the residents of Cumberland County?
I thought the application process for the Concealed permit was supposed to be the same for all Counties.
