NC pistol permit now NA ftf allowed?

I have a feeling most guys on Armslist will still want to see a CWP but oh well at least we got the stupid permit to purchase gone
Could be. That's not uncommon, even in states that never had any sort of purchase permit. Personally, I have no objection to showing a seller my carry permit, as long as they're not recording the information in any way.
 
I'd bet most folks who do that are probably just looking for reassurance that the person they're selling to isn't a felon since they don't have NICS or NCIC access. Can't get a CHP if you're a felon so it's an easy way.

PART II. REPEAL PISTOL PURCHASE PERMITS28
28 SECTION 2.(a) G.S. 14-402 through G.S. 14-405 and G.S. 14-407.1 are repealed.
29 SECTION 2.(b) G.S. 14-315(b1)(1) is repealed.
30 SECTION 2.(c) G.S. 122C-54(d2) is repealed.
31 SECTION 2.(d) Prosecutions for offenses committed before the effective date of
32 this section are not abated or affected by this section, and the statutes that would be applicable
33 but for this section remain applicable to those prosecutions.
34 SECTION 2.(e) This section is effective when it becomes law and applies to pistols
35 sold, given away, transferred, purchased, or received on or after that date.
