Class: Compressed Practical Pistol 1

“this is a qualified building block program” ---> Link to read more about the program.

Practical Pistol Level 1 "PPL1"

You will train on the basics of practical pistol marksmanship and the fundamentals of Pistol accuracy. The method we use was developed over a period of years, with every aspect from the grip of the pistol to the various stances or positions a shooter may be forced to use during a higher stress situation such as action shooting competition or self defense. This is our most popular course, and will give the student a vastly superior edge over a non-trained shooter no matter the situation.

PPL1 is based on the use of a service grade, semi-automatic pistol, but the skills taught will apply to any handgun the shooter chooses. In this class the student can expect to learn:
  • Basic safe handling and proper carry methods for a pistol
  • Situational awareness
  • Proper stance, grip, sight picture, trigger press
  • Single round accuracy
  • Controlled pairs
  • Proper dry-firing training
  • Magazine reloads

After Lunch we will shoot the US Army Pistol Qual for a couple of practice's and then for score to gain your Trace Armory Group Practical Pistol Level 1 Certificate.

The qual can be found in FM 3-23.35 Appendix A.

Once complete we will do many drills on this outstanding pistol pop-up range. That will be a learning experience and alot of fun!!!!

Minimum Equipment:
  • Individual serviceable pistol and 2 magazines
  • Individual holster and ammo pouches
  • Safety glasses, hearing protection and a billed hat
  • Appropriate weather clothing
  • 400rnds of ammunition
  • Positive learning attitude

this is an awesome opportunity!

I'd pay the $50 just to use this range. John's instruction is worth a lot more.

Unfortunately, it's too close to the Mammoth Sniper Challenge (http://mammothsniperchallenge.com/) for me, but I've already been talking to John about shooting at Butner later in '11

It's going to be a blast.

Only $50 !!!

Considering it cost $20 just to walk on some ranges that is really an excellent deal.

Thanks guys,

This is a "starter" class per-say. A way to introduce my training to new students and keep it simple.

Hell its only a pistol. How hard is it to shoot a sub-standard firearm anyhow :)

Docnyt

That's correct on the dates

They are set unless the NG has to use the ranges. BUT the odds of a national guard unit needing the range during a weekday and under 30 days is SLIM at best.

We still have one day to go and it will be a blast.

I have alot of video also. I will get it all put together and share this weekend.
